Now semi-retired but always looking for new creative projects, I have more than four decades of experienece as a creative professional. I am a proficient video editor expert in Final Cut Pro, can deliver high quality 2D and/or 3D motion graphic animation following existing brand and style guidelines or will collaboratively develop new based on current design trends and standards using Motion 5, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I am available and will consider your project on a freelance, temporary or project basis.

    The Central Fire

    Storytelling

    As a Fire Keeper for The Central Fire, a Zoom storytelling platform from Storywork International, I host a monthly storytelling group. I'm a regular at Manuel's Tavern for Carapace storytelling nights on the last Tuesday of each month. Finally, in development with a Georgia College graduate who went on to earn her PhD with a thesis titled, Narratives of Generativity and Resilience among LGBT Older Adults: Leaving Positive Legacies despite Social Stigma and Collective Trauma we are developing a story group to create a language of intergenerational value for LGBTQ+ communities..

    Central State Hospital

    Independent Documentary

    Central State Hospital: An Oral History tells the story of the Milledgeville, Georgia, hospital that was once the largest mental institution in the world serving more than 15,000 patients. I nurtured the project from its inception, wrote the script, edited and created the motion graphics. The story of Central State, from ts founding in 1842 through the announced closing in 2010, told here by former patients, employees, academics, and Milledgeville residents, is also the complicated and troubling story of psychiatric care in America.

      Oversaw initial set-up and management of campus Instructional Technology Center (ITC) included computer classrooms & media lab; supervised staff, developed and taught workshops, and provided hardware & software support for approximately 400 computers, servers and a broad range of interactive media devices.

      Executive Director

      Established a not-for-profit organization to provide digital telecommunications services for three municipal governments and to build a shared fiber institutional network linking government buildings, libraries and schools. Established an early community ISP, operated a community bulletin board service (using TBBS) for residents.

      Executive Director

      Managed not-for-profit television corporation with six production locations, three studios, portable and post-production equipment, and transmission facilities for three cable television channels. Executive produced, planned, and developed over 1,000 hours of original television programming annually.

      Served as Secretary/Treasurer, oversaw investments, $3 million operating, and $9 million capital budget; Chaired Franchise Committee, negotiated public interest requirements of the NYC/Time Warner Cable Franchise Agreement; Capital Committee, purchased midtown NYC building, designed and constructed state-of-the-art television studios. Marketing Committee: hired polling firm, developed marketing and outreach programs.
